
Paula, a professional swimmer, is trying to recover from a shoulder injury that cost her her place in her country's national team. Her long recovery process leads her to face family problems, her mother suffers from Alzheimer's and no longer remembers her, which leads Paula to question her own identity and meaning in life. During practice, Paula re-injures her shoulder and is forced to use steroids to recover faster and rejoin the team. As her mother's Alzheimer's worsens, Paula must endure emotional abuse from her mother and the absence of her father. Paula manages to recover in time for another chance at the team, but this is only the beginning of her new problems.
