In 2024 Katie Trainor, MoMA’s film collections manager, and Greg Pierce, the Andy Warhol Museum’s then-director of film and video, worked together with Colorlab to process more than eighty 100-foot rolls of unprocessed black-and-white and color film left untouched by Warhol and his associates from the early days of Andy Warhol’s Factory filmmaking. Some 60 years after the rolls were exposed to light, what they uncovered was beautifully grainy raw footage from material shot for Sleep, Kiss, Batman Dracula, and Couch, as well as five unseen Screen Test portraits featuring Factory regulars. As an added bonus, five film rolls shot by Factory cinematographer Danny Williams showcasing Gerard Malanga, Paul Morrissey, Edie Sedgwick, the Velvet Underground, and Andy Warhol will also be seen for the first time. “Tomorrow” unfolds in a dim back alley, where a woman feeds a dollar into a lonely vending machine. The machine rejects her at first, then begins speaking - questioning every selection, taunting her indecision. Rows of teas, coffees, sodas swirl into a maddening maze of “what ifs” as her doubts spiral. Paralyzed by endless options, she withdraws until the machine picks for her. A single drink clatters out, bearing a note: “See you tomorrow.” In its silence, choice paralysis conquers once more.

Set in the emotional ruins of the post-Soviet space, this film follows a trans woman through her second year after transition. Haunted by family, silence, and the remnants of her former self, she begins to break free. Thailand becomes her place of rebirth — not escape, but transformation. The film reclaims Nietzsche’s concept of the Overman — not as a cold superhuman ideal, but as a fragile, feminine figure shedding skin through pain, love, and spiritual resistance.
