Mimi and Me (2026)

A heartwarming mother-daughter story about the difficult climb up the social ladder, based on the autobiography of lawyer and journalist Iris Sayram.

Overview : Growing up in Cologne in the 1980s, Iris hopes to study law one day. While her father, Mustafa, wallows in failed dreams and a gambling addiction, her mother, Mimi, struggles to keep the family afloat by working as a cleaning lady and a prostitute. Even after Mimi contracts AIDS, she continues to support her daughter’s plans.
